1. SYSTEMS SERVICE ENGINEER

2. WORKSHOP OPERATIVE

Location: Thornbury, Bristol BS35 3UR 
Contract: Full-time, Permanent 
Reports to: General Manager

Company Overview: MechaTech Systems Ltd are UK specialists in the design, manufacture and support of High Vacuum Systems and Freeze Dryers.  Based near Bristol, we serve across a variety of sectors including nuclear and decommissioning, pharma and defence. 

SYSTEMS SERVICE ENGINEER REQUIRED:

​

Duties will include: 

  • Deliver services for specialist process equipment, including vacuum degassing and drying systems, gas sampling and particulate collection units, and nuclear monitoring systems 

  • Perform planned maintenance and breakdown support 

  • Troubleshoot faults across EC&I, mechanical and vacuum systems 

  • Ensure safety compliance with site protocols and regulations 

  • Communicate technical findings, provide recommendations and produce clear service reports 

  • Support internal engineering, system builds, testing, commissioning and technical schematic reviews 

  • Provide field feedback for design enhancements 

  • Travel across the UK for servicing, undertaking overnight stays when required to support our nationwide customer base

Skills & Experience: 

  • Good technical foundation with ability to apply and develop hands-on skills across engineering environments  

  • Practical understanding of electrical, control and instrumentation systems 

  • Experience with vacuum or gas applications (e.g., compressors, instrumentation, pressure monitoring) 

  • Strong fault-finding aptitude 

  • Knowledge of high-vacuum systems 

  • Eligibility to develop into an SQEP (Suitably Qualified & Experienced Person) for nuclear work (training provided) 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Full, clean UK driving licence 

  • Willingness to travel and work away from home 

  • Exposure or experience in regulated industries is desirable (nuclear, aerospace, pharma, defence, etc.)  

  • Existing SC/CTC security clearance desirable or the ability to obtain

WORKSHOP OPERATIVE REQUIRED:

​Key Duties: 

  • Receiving and unloading incoming deliveries

  • Assisting with picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch

  • Assisting with regular stock checks

  • Labelling, storing and organising materials and components

  • Keeping warehouse and workshop areas clean, tidy and organised

  • Assisting with ad hoc collections and deliveries as required

  • Supporting workshop engineers with movement of materials and parts

  • Ensuring responsible waste disposal and recycling

  • Reporting damaged or missing items

  • Complying with all Health & Safety policies

  • Providing general warehouse and facilities support as needed

Skills & Experience: 

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Proactive mindset with ability to use initiative

  • Problem-solving ability and independent thinking

  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills

  • Good numeracy and literacy

  • Comfortable working independently and within a team

  • Basic IT skills (email, Microsoft Office, stock systems)

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
